Rustic Island wedding | Johanna and Michael | Inishturk Island
Being a wedding photographer in Ireland means shooting in beautiful castles,
historic houses and exploring wonderful countryside. But that's not all.
Sometimes it happens you jump on a boat to capture an island wedding.
Johanna and Michael travelled all the way from the UK to get married on Inishturk Island
in county Mayo, a place where Johanna grew up. It was a huge pleasure for me to join them for two days.
The sea was very choppy on the way to the island, thanks to my small Fuji camera
- which I don't usually use on weddings - I was able to shoot in these challenging conditions!
The ceremony was in a small church 20 meters away from the bride's house followed by
a marquee drinks reception all surrounded by the ocean, a beautiful landscape and views of Connemara.
I'm excited to share this island wedding with you,
Enjoy!
A wedding day.

Relaxed Summer wedding at De Burgh Manor K & N | Irish wedding photography
Irish wedding photography
"...My advice would be to do it your way. Don't get bogged down with traditions and others people's expectations.
Wear the dress you want to wear, have the decorations you want to have etc.
At the end of the day, your wedding is about celebrating the union of you and your partner with your closest friends and family."
Kate
This was my second time shooting in De Burg Manor, and I felt lucky to be back! In addition, this was also the second time
I was able to witness so much kindness and love blossoming from this location - the peaceful atmosphere there almost makes it feel
as though time itself is moving slower. Kate and Nick planned their Irish wedding from abroad, as they both live in Vancouver, Canada.
Organizing a wedding can be stressful on its own, but it can seem especially overwhelming from a different country!
Luckily, the couple had tons of support from family, which can really make all the difference in the world.
It was a true joy to see everything come together, and how so many people chipped in right away,
even in the early hours of the morning.
This day was about capturing the beautiful connection between all of the guests and families in this incredibly peaceful environment.
The entire ‘vibe’ of the day was relaxed and calm, which let the love surrounding everyone really come through even more.
Please, take a look at the beauty of the day for yourself, and you’ll surely see that this location is something special,
especially when the people filling it are full of so much happiness!
Dublin city wedding | L + A | No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place
Sometimes I get asked what type of weddings I like to photograph? Where I like to shoot?
I don’t have a simple answer for that but if someone asks me – what I like to photograph at weddings?
What do I like to show in my pictures? – then the answer is very simple - people in love,
a warm family atmosphere filled with positive emotions and a laid back couple enjoying their wedding day.
Yes, this all happened at No. 25 Fitzwilliam Place. I was looking forward to shooting this Dublin city wedding.
Lynda and Aaron had their Letter and Wine box ceremony
- one of my favourite personal touches - in a cosy, elegant room, surrounded by their families and close friends.
Irish Elopement in Roundwood House | McCaela & Joe
I felt a connection with McCaela and Joe from the very start, and was excited to be a part of this intimate Irish elopement.
I couldn’t have asked for more upon hearing their special plans for the day, or their location.
It was very clear how in love they were, and how special this relationship was.
They chose to get married in their hometown of Boston about a month before they came to Ireland,
to exchange their vows in Roundwood House - a truly magical place,
ideal for small, intimate, emotional ceremonies. And of course, their ceremony didn’t disappoint on any of those levels!
There wasn’t a dry eye in the house (including my own) as the pair exchanged their vows,
and I truly felt as though I was a part of something magical. The warm, inviting atmosphere allowed everyone to relax,
feel comfortable, and enjoy the most touching moments between McCaela and Joe, and I’m truly honoured I was able to be a part of it.
